Etsy
An online marketplace for selling and buying all things handmade!
It's like shopping at the artists market, but from your own home.
I discovered the website just in time for Christmas and along with my
trip to Blue Banana Market in Toronto, have managed to get almost everyone on
my list home made gifts.
Every morning, when we wake up, we have twenty-four brand-new hours to live. What a precious gift!
We have the capacity to live in a way that these twenty-four hours will bring peace, joy, and happiness
to ourselves and others.
Peace is present right here and now, in ourselves and in everything we do and see.
The Question is whether or not we are in touch with it. We don't have to travel far away to enjoy the blue sky.
We don't have to leave our city or even our neighborhood to enjoy the eyes of a beautiful child. Even the air we
breathe can be a source of joy.
We can smile, breathe, walk, and eat our meals in a way that allows us to be in touch with the abundance of happiness
that is available. We are very good at preparing to live, but not very good at living. We know how to sacrifice ten years
for a diploma, and we are willing to work very hard to get a job, a car, a house, and so on. But we have difficulty remembering that we are alive at the present moment, the only moment there is for us to be alive.
Every breath we take, every step we make, can be filled with peace, joy, and serenity. We need only to be awake, alive in
the present moment. ... Thich Nhat Hanh

post a commentKelly,
I was afraid you were going to say that. But don't worry about the ego. This too will pass. To worry about your image too much is attachment to the ego. You need your ego too. And there's nothing wrong with falling in love. We are after all just human beings. What is said or written could not be unsaid or unwritten, altho it could be forgotten or deleted. Just forget it. The wise person doesn't worry about becoming free from the ego; it is after all just a sense of self, an image that is impermanent and that has no absolute value. Just be what you think you are. And nobody will mind. Just an idea.
Try reading Astavakra Samhita.
Two people go to see the same movie, at the same time, with each other. One says: That was a great romance! The other says: That was a great drama! Clearly it was a comedy! [ahh, the filters of perception]
What you interpret in my words, Imemine, are your own projections.
I also perfer to find my truth in experience, not books ;)
Kelly,
I'm happy to hear that! ;>)
You can forget what I wrote. Not very useful, indeed.
Well, at least I am entitled to my own interpretations, projections, and opinions.
Unless you say otherwise.
You know when you mentioned something about holding hands, it made me think a lot.
Recently I had a very traumatic experience involving holding hands with a young woman. I will spare you the details. I actually wanted to find out if I could resist a young woman's charm, especially an extremely beautiful one.
So, I just enjoyed holding her hands a lot, without thinking much about it. I actually was becoming sexually aroused by this, but I didn't do anything about it. We never said anything to each other, we just like the idea of being good friends. When we finally stop seeing each other, it broke my heart. I guess I broke her heart too.
